A new sister school in Beijing - Dehong education partners with Luneng Beijing

Dulwich College International (DCI) together with Dehong Education Group are pleased to announce that on 16 May, 2018 an agreement was signed with Luneng Group to design and build a new Kindergarten to Grade 12 school in Beijing. Dulwich College International CEO Christian Guertler and Headmaster of Dulwich College Beijing Simon Herbert were among those in attendance at the signing ceremony.

The partnership with Luneng Group, one of China’s leading real estate developers, has enabled the new campus to be built within Luneng’s prestigious Grassetown residential development. Grassetown’s 3,400 Chinese acres of landscaped grounds provide an attractive setting for the 55,000 sqm school site. This school, like Dehong Shanghai, will enjoy a sister school relationship with Dulwich College International schools, and will be an integral member of the DCI network.

The curriculum design is founded on our core commitment: students come first. We will recruit the best quality teachers, be they Chinese or foreign, to ensure that all subjects are taught to the highest level, enabling the students to fulfill their potential. The core curriculum will be supported by DCI’s commitment to student wellbeing, offering taught programmes in both Western and Chinese forms of performing arts, music, art and design, science, technology and sports. Community service and sustainability will be core themes in the curriculum, allowing all students to experience the benefits of a holistic education.

The school is expected to open in September 2019, offering classes in Grades 1 to 3 in two existing buildings. In September 2020, upon the expected completion of the Main Campus, all classes from Grade 1 upwards will move into the Main Campus. The existing buildings will be refitted as a Kindergarten allowing the School to offer classes from Kindergarten to Grade 7 in 2020. Further grades will open in each subsequent year up to Grade 12.
