Seoul Metropolitan Council Visit to Dulwich College Seoul IB Forum

This Tuesday, we were honoured to welcome the Honourable Seoul Metropolitan Council (SMC) member and Chair Park Sang-hyuk and members of the SMC Education Committee to our IB Forum, together with Lesley Meyer, Chief Education Officer at Education in Motion.

In this special year as we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we officially opened our newly renovated spaces, including the Alleyn Theatre and the 1619 Café, and highlighted the strengths of our IB Diploma Programme.

The programme featured a welcome from our Head of College, Alison Derbyshire, who remarked:

“Dulwich is committed to contributing to the local community—not only as a centre of foreign education, but as a trusted educational partner to Seoul. The IB Forum is one of our initiatives to share insights into the IB programme and how IB education can support the growth and development of students in Seoul.”

The programme continued with a performance from our student string trio, a primer on the IB from Lesley Meyer, followed by Suzy Pugh (Head of Senior School), and further insights from Olivia Chan (IB Coordinator) and Kyndra Douglass (Director of University & Career Counselling). Our Head Students also shared heartfelt testimonials on their IB journey. We extend our thanks to Namju Cho (Director of Communications & External Relations) for coordinating this important visit.

Our guests were given a tour of the Senior School with support from our bilingual Head Students. The visit continued with refreshments at the 1619 Café, where classic Yorkshire puddings paired with Korean bulgogi and Victoria sponge cake were served to mark the momentous occasion, before closing with a group photo and a special stop at the Dulwich Drop.
