- Ash Dykes Visits Dulwich College Seoul
On Monday 9 September, British adventurer and extreme athlete Ash Dykes visited Dulwich College Seoul as this year’s Shackleton Lecturer.
Ash has recently completed a yearlong mission walking 4000 miles, the length of the River Yangtze from source to sea.
Ash captivated the students recalling exciting tales of his most recent mission in China as well as his previous missions across the Gobi Desert in Mongolia and a South to North crossing of Madagascar.
The Shackleton Lecture falls at the perfect time just before the Adventurous Journeys get underway. Ash explained to the students the lessons he has learned from his adventures, such as planning, organisation and breaking down the seemingly impossible tasks.
In addition to both Primary and Senior School Assemblies, Ash met with Year 1 and Year 2 and told stories of some of the amazing wildlife he saw throughout his travels. Ash finished the day with Year 12 to discuss project planning and fundraising ideas for the Year 12 Tacloban Project.
