Senior School French Teacher
Carole Irigoin joined us from The British International School, in Cairo, Egypt; she has lived and taught in Egypt for 10 years, after starting her teaching career in the UK. She qualified from the University of Lancaster in the UK with a PGCE and the University of Strasbourg in France with her Masters in French as a Foreign Language. For her undergraduate studies, Carole completed a degree in English Literature and Civilization at the University of Pau, in France. Carole has taught French across all year groups, as well as Secondary Drama, Theory of Knowledge, and Primary Music. She has been Head of Languages in the UK, Specialist Coordinator and Head of Year. Carole is a Team Leader and moderator for the International Baccalaureate Organisation. As part of her involvement in schools, she has led many educational trips, in-school events and directed musicals and plays in French and English. Carole’s interests beyond the classroom are varied; they include skiing, composing music, singing, acting, dancing Salsa and Tango, and Pilates.
