Jim Harvey

Deputy Head of Primary School (Academic)

Jim has joined us after spending five years in Myanmar working as the Head of Primary at The British School Yangon. He has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations that he received from Nottingham Trent University. Jim gained his teaching qualification at the same university, eight years later. He has been living and working in Asia for 16 years. During this time he has taught English as an Additional Language (EAL) to all ages in Taipei, and as well as teaching in Yangon, has taught children from Reception to Year 6 at British and International schools in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur. Jim has a keen interest in developing pupil's voice, where he likes to create leadership opportunities for children beyond the classroom. Outside school, Jim is a keen baker. He bakes regularly on a Sunday morning and likes to explore cities by trawling through coffee shops where he can also pick up top tips for his kitchen.
