Joseph Dekens
Lead School Counsellor
Joseph (Joey) Dekens joins us after serving as the Whole School Lead Social-Emotional Counsellor at the International School of Busan in Korea. Joseph has spent the last 15 years in school counselling and education at various schools and universities in Busan, and Alberta, Canada. Joseph has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Lethbridge and Master degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor, with experience as a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta. Joseph was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and has lived over 11 years in Busan, South Korea. Joseph enjoys humour, various sports, walking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family. He also dabbles in voice-acting, writing and puppetry, and is quite fond of various approaches to psychological counselling.
