Youn Jin Seo
Primary Art Teacher
Youn Jin was born and raised in South Korea and had the opportunity to study abroad at the Sishya school in Chennai, India during her formative years. She pursued her studies in Fine Art at the College for Creative Studies in Michigan, the United States as a President Scholarship Recipient and continued to hone her artistic skills at the Studio Art College International in Florence, Italy. After graduating from the college with BFA in Crafts/Metal Smith and Jewelry Design, Youn Jin worked in the New York City jewelry district. Afterward, she came back to Korea and taught art for more than 8 years at Ewha Womans Elementary School in Seoul, South Korea. Her passion and her drive for education led her to design an art education program for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), which was recognized by Korean National Commission for UNESCO. She then continued her professional career development at Ewha Womans University Graduate School of Education completing her M.Ed. in Fine Arts Education and participated in Professional Education Programs at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Youn Jin has been actively engaged within and beyond the classroom through arts, music, dance, expedition, and charity both locally and internationally. Beyond the classroom, Youn Jin enjoys traveling, watching movies and swimming. She is also interested in traditional Korean arts and practices the Korean fan dance occasionally.
