Valerie McCubbin
Head of Art
Valerie McCubbin joins us from Oundle School in the UK. She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art at Dundee University in Scotland with a BA Hons in Fine Art. She also holds a PGCE from Buckingham University. Valerie, a Scottish-born multidisciplinary artist, designer, and educator, has taught senior-level students for 18 years. She is an experienced Head of Department, having led departments and students to achieve award-winning accolades. She's skilled in writing and delivering curriculum for both IB Diploma and British curriculums and serves as an IB Visual Arts examiner. Beyond the classroom, Valerie enjoys travelling, learning about art and culture worldwide, racquet sports, and yoga. Valerie's eldest daughter is currently studying at Lancaster University, and her daughter Maiya will be joining Year 5 at DCSL.
