Year 13 Graduation

On 18 May 2018, we said goodbye to our second cohort of graduates. Twenty-two young men and women will leave Dulwich College Seoul ready to begin the next phase of their lives. They have achieved so much in their time here and have had a tremendous impact on the school.

What has struck me as I have been writing the graduation comments for each of these students is how individual they all are, creating a class of remarkable diversity.

This is a year group of engineers and artists, human and natural scientists, mathematicians and historians. They paint, sing, act, play the bass, surf, do impressions, dance, speak a ridiculous number of languages and are a lot of fun to be around. Within this group, you could have a conversation about infinity, about the beauty of a collarbone, about cricket, about gender, about the classification of movies, about AI, about...well, about almost anything.

What I love about graduation is that it comes now - before any results are known. There can be no temptation to judge students by Diploma score. Graduation is a time to appreciate individuals; to talk about them as a diverse group of outstanding young people that we have enjoyed having as part of our community and our lives.

We wish them all the very best for the future. Congratulations to the Dulwich College Seoul Class of 2018!
