Mandarin as a Native, Second and Foreign Language
Dulwich College International Schools have developed a strong Mandarin programme. At Dulwich College Seoul, Mandarin is taught as a native language, second language and foreign language. Throughout the College, Mandarin is taught daily and is streamed according to ability, from native speaker to absolute beginner. Student learning goes beyond speaking, listening, reading and writing to involve workshops and activities that immerse students in the richness of the Chinese culture.
Acquire a Second Language with the Choice of French, Spanish, and Korean
In addition to our Mandarin programme, Senior School students can choose to learn a second language where we offer French, Spanish, and Korean. Budding linguists can continue to study their chosen languages as part of their IGCSE and IB courses.
English as a Foreign Language: Support given to Non-Native Speakers
Our students come from a wide range of linguistic and cultural backgrounds, with over 40 different nationalities represented in our diverse student body. We are able to support a percentage of students who are non-native English speakers. Students who require additional English language teaching to access the curriculum are provided with English as an Additional Language (EAL) support and our Personalised Educational Programme (PEP). Working closely with the class and subject teachers, our language specialists help students develop the skills necessary to complete their school work in English and benefit fully from all the College has to offer.
