
Gareth Thomas
Director of Technology, Computer Science Teacher
Gareth Thomas joined Dulwich College Seoul from Wellington College Shanghai, where he was a founding member of staff and served as Whole School Head of Computer Science for six years. Prior to his time in Shanghai, he spent seven years at Olchfa School, one of the leading state schools in Wales, where he developed a strong foundation in curriculum leadership and classroom innovation.
A passionate advocate for using emerging technology to enhance learning, Gareth has led extracurricular programmes in AI, coding, and robotics. His aim is to ignite curiosity and inspire students to explore the evolving boundaries of computer science beyond the traditional curriculum.
Gareth holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Wales, as well as both an MA and an MEd. Before transitioning into education, he worked in the technology sector as an Online Applications Developer for HBOS, one of the UK’s major banking institutions.
Beyond the classroom, Gareth is a keen sportsman. He enjoys coaching and participating in a range of sports, particularly football, rugby, and skiing. Over the past decade, he has led numerous college sports trips across Europe, Asia, and North America.
